FAQs
How do I progress to the next tier?
Tier progress is tracked over the calendar year (January 1st to December 31st). Once you achieve Tier Status, it remains active for the rest of the year and the entirety of the following calendar year. Tier status is achieved at the following levels: Rouge (at account opening), Azul (10,000 points), Gold (50,000 points), Platinum (250,000 points).
Can my points expire?
Points expire after 12 months of account inactivity—which means you haven’t earned any points during this time. No points will expire as long as you earn any points during the previous 12 months.
How much are points worth at redemption?
All points are redeemed at one cent ($0.01) per point unless otherwise identified.
Can I earn points by playing table games?
Yes. Points are earned on table games based on amount wagered and varies by time played, game played, and average bet as input by table games staff. The system rating calculates wagers and awards points as follows: Roulette earns 1 point for every $5.00 wagered; 3:2 blackjack earns 1 point for every $30.00 wagered; and all other table games earn 1 point for every $10.00 wagered.
Are there any limits to how I use my points in the casino?
Yes. Only points earned from gaming can be converted to FrioPlay for free play on slots, electronic tables, or video poker. Points earned from other resort spending (dining, drinks, hotel stay, etc.) are not eligible for FrioPlay. However, all points may be used for non-gaming rewards, no matter how those points were earned. The point balance displayed on slot machines includes only "gaming points," not necessarily your full account balance.
How do I get credit for my spend?
Present your Rio Rewards card at the time of transaction, or charge directly to your room (remember to ask the front desk to add your Rio Rewards number to your hotel stay). If you forget to add your account to a transaction, we can help! Bring your receipt to the Rio Rewards desk, and we’ll add any missing points to your account.
Can I receive points for my hotel room spend?
As of March 1, 2024 hotel room spend itself does not earn Rio Rewards points.
