Newly Remodeled Pool at Rio Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

A Redesigned Pool Experience

A three-acre paradise drawing inspiration from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro

Rio Brings Brazilian-Inspired Beauty to Redesigned Pool Experience

Spending some time poolside is essential when visiting Las Vegas, where sunshine is in abundance nearly 300 days per year, and as Rio Hotel and Casino continues its rebirth, there’s a new vibe permeating the resort’s outdoor pool deck.

In 2024, Rio is revealing a new vision for its pool, drawing inspiration from the beach vibes of its namesake, Rio de Janeiro. A vibrant, visual splendor, the reimagined pool deck is awash in multicolored umbrellas, a sandy white deck, tropical wood finishes, towering palm trees, tropical foliage, and a brighter, lighter look all around.

The refresh, one of many that have rejuvenated the iconic resort, brings a festival-like atmosphere back to the pool, creating the perfect midday escape for visitors and a clear contrast between business and pleasure for groups attending the popular convention destination.

“It was really inspired by the beaches of Rio, with the pool deck colors and organic micro pattern representing the sand, and a warm, bright, oceanside feel that’s so close to the jungle,” says Carolyn Ament, Dreamscape Companies Vice President and Head of Design, Development and Construction Services. “The vitality, energy, flora, and fauna – it’s a sense of Tropicalia that’s unique to Rio.”

Like A Day at the Beach

In bringing the design back to its Brazilian roots, Rio is embracing the foundation of its legacy. The pool deck itself is unlike others in Las Vegas: a five-acre paradise with four unique pool experiences, a waterfall that acts like a selfie-magnet, a built-in stage for concerts, and much more poolside space for guests to soak up the sun. Even the entrance has been relocated to reduce crowding and make it easier to get in and get out.

The pool deck is customizable, and Ament has overseen the installation of all-new cabanas and luxury furnishings in the adult area for guests that desire a private space by the water. The experience itself has a “choose your own adventure” vibe of sorts, as the variety of the cabanas give guests options based on their personal preferences, with contemporary furnishings, ceiling fans, and wall-mounted television screens.

Bringing the Meeting Experience Outdoors

With three acres of Brazilian-inspired beauty in a customizable outdoor environment, Rio’s pool deck is an inspired complement to the resort’s meeting and convention area. The space is capable of hosting receptions for up to 3,000 guests, or 1,600 for a banquet, and the stage allows for a range of entertainment options – from DJs to live bands and more.

“When it comes to creating a unique poolside experience, we’re only limited by our imagination,” says Jeff Eisenhart, Dreamscape Companies Vice President of Sales Strategy. “There’s so much flexibility that you can build an entertainment experience with live music, you could create a wellness retreat and host yoga by the pool.

“We specialize in creating that personalized experience. Our approach has always been ‘How can we make it happen?’”
